It was Monday and Sam had the day off. A perfect day to go for a jog, tend the garden, and spend some quality time with Jasmine. He spent most of the morning with Jasmine.
Counting her fingers and toes and blowing bubbles on her belly so she would laugh. Jasmine was a happy infant. Sam had missed having an infant around after the twins had aged up.
Speaking of the girls, they were due home any moment. Sam changed his shirt and was outside to meet them as they came home.
“Shall we go to the park?”
“Yes!” They shouted.
Homework could wait. Just as Evelyn and Elisa were no longer infants, soon they would be no longer children and Sam wanted to remember them this way for as long as he could.
As usual, it didn’t take long for Elisa to make a new friend.
But the two girls made sure to include Evelyn in their game of Space Rangers. Her name was Cora and she fit right in. At times watching them play, he though he had triplets. Sam had a feeling he’d be seeing a lot more of Cora.
Eventually, it was time to say goodbye and return home. The girls as well as Sam were starving.
Back home, Karen was just starting dinner so the girls plopped down to do their homework while Sam skipped into the shower after checking on Jasmine.
Suddenly mid-shower, her heard shouts from the living room and rushed out to see what was wrong.
“What’s going on?” he asked. And then realized he didn’t have to ask what was wrong.
He grabbed the girls and Jasmine and headed outside while Karen ran for the extinguisher. He gave Karen three minutes, with his finger on the speed dial to the firefighters, waiting for her to rush out after them.
When she did emerge from the house, it was with a small smile and a smudge of ash on her face.
“It’s out,” she said and took Jasmine who was fussing in Sam’s arms.
Sam had been envisioning the whole house going up in flames and it took a moment for him to realize the danger had passed.
“We need a new stove,” Karen said as they assessed the damage.
“Probably for the best,” Sam said sadly. He knew it wasn’t the best stove and probably very dangerous around kids. But it had been one of his father’s first purchases after he and Chana had moved in together.
After an unsatisfactory dinner of baked potatoes and after all the homework was done. The girls said their good nights to them and, as he watched, to baby Jasmine.
“Now Jasmine,” Elisa instructed. “Don’t keep mommy and daddy up all night like you did last night.”
Jasmine blew bubbles at her sister.
Then it was Evelyn’s turn. “Cuz if you do,” she continued her sister’s sentence and reached into the crib. “The tickle monster will get you!”
Sam tried and failed to suppress a smile, gave his girls a kiss goodnight, and led them off to bed.
He caught himself yawning as he returned to the living room. It was still early, but with Jasmine asleep, he and Karen had to take advantage of every moment.
“Daddy, Daddy!” Elisa’s shout woke Sam, it was still dark outside, so he knew it wasn’t morning yet. He looked at the clock. 2:11 am. He groaned.
“What-?” He asked sitting up.
“A monster, there’s a tickle monster under my bed.”
“A tickle monster?”
Elisa nodded, eyes wide. He sighed and wished he’d never mentioned the tickle monster to them. It had been part of the game he and Izzy had played growing up. Coming up with ridiculous beasts.
He gave her a hug and took her hand. “Let’s go see this monster.”
He snagged a water bottle as they passed through the living room. “Where is it?” he asked as they entered the room.
“Under there,” Evelyn pointed. She was still in bed, but she leaped out as he approached the bed in question.
“What are you going to do?” Evelyn asked.
He brandished the spray bottle like a weapon.
“It is a well-known fact,” he stated, “that tickle monsters hate water. Especially lavender water.”
He sprayed the water liberally around Elisa’s bed.
“Mine too?”
He sprayed around Evelyn’s before tucking them both back into their beds. The scent of lavender filled the air and he smiled. That should help remind them that the place was now safe.
“You two okay now?”
They nodded in unison and Sam kissed them on their foreheads.
“Goodnight sweet peas.”
“Goodnight daddy.”
Author’s Note: I really need to play more! Unless of course, every day is this eventful. Honestly, this all happened on the same day pretty and much exactly as I recorded it. The amusing truth is that both Sam and Karen woke up as the girls rushed in. Karen got dressed and Sam headed back to bed so I thought Karen was going to take care of the girls. Nope, she went out to play with the new horseshoe set. The girls had to wake their dad up a second time before he came to deal with the monster.
Jeez, after a day that action packed, Sam probably wishes he’d gone to work XD So glad the fire didn’t hurt anyone!

Ditto! I was worried it would set Karen on fire and Sam almost missed all the excitement. He actually didn’t leave the shower till it was put out (then he broke the shower).
I’m not sure he’d trade his precious day off with the girls for anything less exciting!
We still have to go stove buying. I didn’t replace it yet. 😀

Those twins are so darned cute! So much excitement in one day.

I know! It’s like they wanted me to have something to post for today without having to work at it. 😀
Days like this are when I love writing Huffmans. Elisa just finished her social aspiration at the park (final friend yay!) While Evelyn still has a bit more to do for Motor. I don’t know if I’ll try to push them to complete two. They’re pretty happy – depends on how their new room looks with all the cool new stuff they’re getting today.

I’ve had some days like that with my ISBI lately. Then other times a chapter spans almost a week before I get enough screenshots to call it done.

The downside of playing more means you’ll have that darned monster waking everyone up twice a night! 😡

Oh dear – so far this is my first monster ever and he only came once. I’d love Evelyn to befriend it (those are actually her feet in the picture as she stayed behind while her sister got the parents). But that wasn’t an option.
If we spray with lavender water everyday before bedtime will it be safe?

Others may have a different situation but for me even spraying before bed did not help. I wasn’t even using mods at the time. I gave up after a three wake up night and added the lamp. Then it STILL happened and I figured it was because there were three beds so now there are two lamps with four beds in this one room…

🙂 Sam is such a great daddy .. he just makes me smile!! Terrible about the kitchen damage tho!! I have not had a kitchen fire since the asylum .. not looking forward to that (I always love the old time stove so it is bound to happen)

It was the perfect stove for the cottage and Arturo saved up extra money so he could buy it, but I think it’s time to get a “modern” stove.
I just adore Sam, he’s just the best dad for these girls.

Random question about the monster since I haven’t played too much since the update: can I choose who the kids go to to get the monster sprayed so I can have it be, say, their older sister?

You can ask to spray the monster before they go to bed. I don’t have any teens in the house so I know know if they’re allowed. But if they wake up in the night, then they randomly pick someone.

Ok, thanks! Great update, by the way!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! (And random questions are always okay!) Sorry I’m not 100% sure, I’ve only played 2 days with kids since the update and only the one monster…

Haven’t had yime to play the game, so I haven’t downloaded the new patch yet. I can’t wait to see how kids react to monsters under their bed. I’m so glad the twins like their new baby sister.

This was my first time playing. I think I agree with others that it’s a bit too frequent, which gets annoying fast.

Daw, the new friend is named Cora! I may just be partial to that name, even if my Cora is a bit off her rocker, heehee…
Good luck getting some sleep, Sam! Regretting that Big Happy Family aspirtation yet? ^_^;; (But they are seriously so adorable).

I hope he’s not regretting it! Cora aged up to teen the next day – so I’m having to wait to reintroduce her for the twins to play with. That always seems to happen to me. Sam’s first bff aged up days before he did.

Awe I hope they can befriend the tickle monster 😉

Ooh. Yes. It’s so hard to befriend him. So far everytime it’s failed.

Booo I hope it works out but kids grow so fast so you may not have time 😦

I know. Especially as with so many sims I really struggle to concentrate on any one sim.

I have yet to see the monster in action, haven’t had any kids in my game for ages. The twins are so adorable. Loved their little interaction with the baby.

They really love having a baby sister around – neither were annoyed at all. I’m glad you like Sam’s parenting style. I’m sure he’s not perfect, but he is pretty great at what he does.

IT’S THE ATTACK OF THE TICKLE MONSTERS! XD And well done Karen with that fire. (Also, that picture from inside the crib is superb – I’m really impressed)

My sister and I were attacked by the tickle monster all the time. 😀
I love trying to get different shots of things. Not all of them work so well, but this one kind of makes you feel like the baby. 😀
