I don’t know what happened. I finished this house and totally forgot to post it in here? Seems like it.
Anyways, this is my purple house. I originally built a version of this for Feather Drifter when she’s not in Selvadorada finding artifacts. The house was also based off the apartment.
But with all the artifacts and photos in the house and all the personal details, it was really hard to find and remove all the things tagging the house as having CC. It also was originally built in Windenburg on the Island (where the Firefly house is now). So I redid it when I set it down in Brindleton Bay with the rest of my color houses.
Outside, it’s actually kind of cute. A little bohemian and a lot storybook. Inside its boho and purple madness. I mean, the walls alone will probably drive you mad unless you’re a very specific kind of sim. With very … purple … tastes.
It’s got a kind of galley kitchen when you first walk in. Is that was they are called when there’s a kitchen in a narrow hallway? Or is it only when it’s on one wall?
I moved the bathroom to the end of the dining area rather than right next to the front door so I could use the fun double doors for the entrance.
The bathroom is the only place I used that loud tile. I really do like it, but it was a bit much for the whole kitchen, and I started using the rule that if the game brings up a floor or wall or object with the “purple” tag – I can use it. So I changed the tile in the kitchen to a more soothing stone.
The living and bedroom are pretty identical to the apartment. Feather’s version of this house has a lot of artifacts and archaeology stuff, but I went with the original furniture here.
When I was making the apartments, I wanted a bubble blower in at least one of them. Purple got to be the one. But it’s so big that there’s not a lot else you can do. (I now notice the plants are coming through the wall – darn it – that’s going to be in the version you download.)
The bedroom was actually my favorite room in the original build. There’s a lot of stuff that is classified as “purple” in the catalog. I’m seeing this sim as a childish sim, I think. That’s the type that would really appreciate all these colors. (My simself is childish, so perhaps she’d like it?)
I added a second bedroom to this build. Since I had the room. right now it’s an office since I saw this sim as a singleton again. (And I wanted to keep the aquarium but I’d put the laundry where it used to be.) It would be easy to turn into a bedroom.
The last little bit is back outside, I love the tree with all the hanging lights (used it in the Teal House as well). Since the tree comes in purple, it made a good fit here too.
I think this might be a good house to download off the gallery (ra3rei) and recolor! Feel free to do so and share with me if you do fix it up.

Such a fun build! Yes, a galley kitchen is in a narrow room, usually with the doors on one or both of the shorter walls and counters/appliances facing one another along the two longer ones.

Woot! I knew I should have looked it up. It’s amazing how much architecture I’m learning watching sims builds and trying stuff out.

It feels like just a step over the top of the style I would imagine your Simself in.

Yeah, just a nudge. My Simself would probably go for solid color walls , not stripes and dots , and maybe more pastel ? Just a touch less visual stimulation . But I love it nonetheless !

LOL! I’m using Orange House in my current autobiographical series! I adore that house! The stairs! I love them. Turned the kids’ room into a music studio. The split level! Love it!

Awesome! I’ll come by and check it out! Orange is still my favorite so far and probably will be my favorite overall – I’ve only got a few left to make and they’re less exciting (so far).
I’m hoping to do a lot more with split levels soon. Watching old TS3 videos for ideas and hoping for a few small tool enhancements.

I think the orange build is more my current style – but Boho storybook is definately in there when I can add in some yellows and greens!
So much more than my upcoming…pink… build. Shudder.

Oh, orange is so my style too! Also purple-yellow-green is pretty much what my real-life room is coloured now.
